At the beginning of November 2009, Definiens is releasing the latest version of the Definiens eCognition product suite. This article is a first preview of some of the new features implemented in eCognition Developer.

Geobia 2010 has issued a call for papers. The conference on geographic object-based image analysis is to be held from 29th June to 2nd July 2010 in Ghent (Belgium), offering oral and poster presentations as well as computer workshops. Abstract submission is required before 15th October 2009.

The eCognition 8 Beta Program

Hi All,

with the release of a new version of eCognition on the horizon, we
started this Beta Program to allow a selected group of users access to
the new version before its actual release. The eCognition 8 Beta
version will be available by August 27th. Over the next couple of days
we will contact all members of this program and provide them with the
necessary licenses and software.

As you will see we added a multitude of new functionalities, concepts and algorithms. The most noteworthy are:
