eBooks and eCognition
These days I was reading an interesting article about the future of eBooks as seen by true insiders.
Not surprinsingly, Amazon representatives see a bright future for them - while Apple's Steven Jobs doesn't see an opportunity at all (who reads books in the coming generations?). A key question here is the future about books -or say textual lyrics- in general, independent of the media. In short, many people doubt that the printed word, including screens, will continue to be as important as it was since Gutenberg invented letterpress printing some 500 years ago.
Clean tech and eCognition
Clean tech is en vogue among venture capitalists, in public media and now with politicians. In Definiens Earth we are more than happy about this. First of all because -even taking hype and confusion aside- it will most likely help our planet more than harm it. And, because remote sensing is so instrumental for many areas in clean tech.
